The Public Works Department is located in the Public Works Building at 3006 Springs Industrial Drive in the Powder Springs Industrial Park. This Department is responsible for the maintenance of public property, drainage, and street rights-of-way. The Public Works Director is responsible for oversight of this Department.

The Director of Public Works is a department head responsible for the direction and supervision of the Water and Sewer, Streets, Sanitation, and Soil and Erosion Control Departments for the City.

The Director is responsible for the supervision and management of all new developments in the City including new subdivisions and commercial projects.

Mr. Swaim also serves as an in-house engineer providing studies and engineering services to all other departments as needed.
