Powder Springs is a rapidly growing diverse city of approximately 17,000 residents located in West Cobb County 25 miles NW of Atlanta. The Police Department has both full-time and part-time sworn positions with a civilian staff of 11 employees.  The Police Department consists of 3 divisions; Administrative, Detectives, and Patrol.  

The Administrative Division includes the Chief's Office, Internal Affairs, Records, Evidence & Property Control and an Administrative Sergeant detached to the North Central Georgia Law Enforcement Academy as a full-time instructor.
