History
Powder Springs Library moved into its beautiful new facility in January 2008. It is located on the campus of the George Ford Senior Center and Reception Hall in Powder Springs, and was built on the site of the old Powder Springs elementary school. The library serves much of southwest Cobb County and a large number of non-resident patrons in adjoining Paulding County. The library contains more than 50,000 items, and has dedicated children and adult services areas. The library has a meeting room, conceived in a style reminiscent of the old elementary school, which is named for Luke Penn, the school’s longtime custodian.
