Vacant & Foreclosed Properties Registration

Registration Ordinance
On January 3, 2011 the City of Powder Springs' City Council adopted Ordinance Number 2010-54, an ordinance to provide for emergency nuisance abatement and to create Articles II and III to provide for registration of certain foreclosed and vacant properties within the City of Powder Springs. The City of Powder Springs recently amended is registry requirements pursuant to 2012 legislation adopted by the General Assembly.

Purpose of the Program
The purpose of the Vacant and Foreclosed Properties Registration Program is to help protect the health, safety and welfare of the citizens by preventing blight, protecting property values and neighborhood integrity, avoiding nuisance violations and to provide a tool to enforce proper maintenance of properties within the City of Powder Springs.

There is no cost to register properties through this program. However, failure to register a vacant or foreclosed property may result in Code Enforcement action.
