The Quality of Life Unit is responsible for ensuring compliance with a variety of ordinances, codes and regulations relating to zoning, land use, licensing, health and safety, blight, nuisances and other matters of public concern. 

Their duties include conducting field inspections, meeting with property owners, educating the public about applicable laws, issuing warnings, issuing citations, attending court, coordinating with other city departments and the solicitor.

The Quality of Life Unit also participates in the City’s graffiti abatement program. Citizens may forward concerns pertaining to graffiti to the Unit for further investigation and recording. The Unit will work with the Public Works Department in order to request clean up of such vandalism.
