The City of Powder Springs will undergo a “modified closure” that will close to the general public all city facilities. The closure will take effect at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday and will be re-evaluated on March 30.
While public access to City facilities is closed, limited services will continue.
Public safety and sanitation services will continue as usual although Monday brush pick up will be suspended temporarily.
Questions about sanitation may be directed to Public Works Director, Dwayne Eberhart at DEberhart@cityofpowdersprings.org and questions about public safety services may be directed to the Police Chief, Tony Bailey at TBailey@cityofpowdersprings.org.
Other city services will continue but may be delayed because we are operating with fewer employees at this time.
Municipal Court cases will be reset to May. Citations may be paid online at powderspringspay.com or by calling 1-855-907-3180 or by mail. Questions regarding your case may be directed to the Court Administrator, Tracie Jackson, at TJackson@cityofpowdersprings.org.
New residents and utility customers: An application for service can be found on our website at www.cityofpowdersprings.org. Once you complete the application, you may drop a paper copy in the mail or place in the drop box outside of City Hall at the side entrance, email it to TNewkirt@cityofpowdersprings.org or KAxt@cityofpowdersprings.org or fax to 770-943-8003.
Utility payments: Customers may pay online on the homepage, by mail or drop your payment at the payment drop box on the side of City Hall. You may email Tamara Newkirt at TNewkirt@cityofpowdersprings.org or Kelly Axt at KAxt@cityofpowdersprings.org or at 770-943-8001, ext 312. They can assist you with credit card payments over the phone.
Tax Payments: Customers may pay online from the homepage, by mail or drop your payment at the payment drop box on the side of City Hall. Questions regarding tax payment or accounts payable may be directed to the Finance Director at DMcCullars@cityofpowdersprings.org.
Permits|Licenses|Zoning Applications: Applications are found on our website at www.cityofpowdersprings.org on the Community Development page. You may submit your application to firstname.lastname@example.org or leave it in the mail drop box at City Hall at the side entrance. Someone from Community development will contact you regarding your application. You may submit your fees for the application in the mail drop box at City Hall at the side entrance or call Tina Garver at 770-943-8001, ext 361. She can assist you with credit card payments over the phone.
Rentals: The City is not accepting rentals for the Ford Center until all March rentals have selected their rescheduled dates. If you have questions about rentals or access to city amenities such as the Senior Center, the Museum, Ford Center, Theater or city park facilities, please contact the Parks Director, Jeff Crowder, at 770-8001, ext 305 or JCrowder@cityofpowdersprings.org.
Code Compliance: Code compliance will continue by the code officers during the limited closure. You may submit a code complaint online at www.cityofpowdersprings.org.
Construction Inspections will continue each week and following a rain event.
Building Inspection: please call our Building Official to schedule an inspection at 770- 914-2377.
Silver Comet Linear Park, including concessions and restrooms, will be closed.
